Penny is absolutely fantastic to work with and I recommend her without hesitation.

She is a breath of fresh air and a very welcome antidote to those W1A-style PR agencies that talk jargon, charge the earth and deliver nothing.

Penny is a consummate professional who takes time to get to know the organisations and personalities she works with. As an accomplished journalist, she uses this knowledge to craft new and interesting ways to ‘tell the story’ to a wide range of audiences. She then weaves the new narrative into the various ‘calls to action’ for fundraising, volunteering or simply profile raising.

As a charity CEO, Penny worked with me on everything from our communications strategy through branding, partnerships, to marketing materials and speeches. She was also extremely effective in getting traction with our various press releases drawing on her experience and her networks in the media. I was always delighted with the results and the positive responses from stakeholders to our work together.

Lastly, it is not just about the quality of Penny’s work and the outcomes of same. Penny “gets it” very quickly and then sets about finding ways to make a difference. She is a people person with a great sense of humour who works collaboratively to get great results.

Penny has been working for Lamp since November 2019 and has made a big difference in a relatively short space of time.
Penny’s main role has been to use her exemplary copy writing skills to help Lamp submit more compelling, successful funding bids. I am pleased to say this is paying off. The volume of bids being submitted has risen considerably and Penny’s bids have already helped secure thousands in funding. Lamp has also been successful at moving through to the next stage of a large funding application, having been turned down previously.
As well as writing bids, Penny has also started to help us shape the way the charity communicates with corporate partners. This advice and input has had an immediate effect. External colleagues have already commented on the positive change.
Lamp is now looking forward benefiting from of Penny’s extensive experience to help formulate a robust social media strategy and develop further consistency to our messaging.
I am delighted with the quality of Penny’s work and as a team, we really enjoy and value her input.
